What services do you offer?
We offer mobile pink slip (eSafety) inspections, pre-purchase car inspections including EVs, car servicing, logbook servicing, mechanical repairs, breakdown assistance, and motorcycle and trailer inspections. Everything is delivered mobile, meaning our licensed mechanics come to you rather than you booking a workshop visit.
What areas do you service?
We service all of Sydney plus the Central Coast and Newcastle. That includes the Inner West, Eastern Suburbs, Western Sydney, South West Sydney, the North Shore, Northern Beaches, and the St George and Sutherland Shire regions. Are your mechanics licensed and TfNSW authorised?
Yes. All inspections are carried out by fully licensed, TfNSW-authorised mobile mechanics and safety inspectors, and Pink Slip Today is a licensed NSW Motor Vehicle Repairer. Every mechanic is fully insured, so your vehicle and property are covered while we work on-site.
Pink slips and eSafety checks
What is a pink slip (eSafety check)?
A pink slip, now officially called an eSafety check, is a government-required safety inspection for most NSW vehicles more than five years old. It confirms your vehicle meets minimum roadworthiness standards before you can renew its registration. Once your vehicle passes, the result is lodged electronically with Transport for NSW.
How do I know if I need a pink slip?
In NSW, most light vehicles more than five years old need an eSafety inspection before registration can be renewed. The quickest way to confirm is to check your registration renewal notice, which states whether an inspection is required. If you’re still unsure, call us on 1300 191 981 and we’ll confirm it for you.
What vehicle types can you inspect?
We inspect cars, utes, vans, SUVs, motorcycles, caravans and trailers. Light trailers and caravans up to 4.5 tonnes aggregate trailer mass and motorcycles all fall within the eSafety scheme, and our mobile inspectors are equipped to check each of these on-site.
How much does a mobile pink slip cost?
Our mobile pink slip service starts from $99, with no call-out fee for quoted work. The Transport for NSW inspection component is set within regulated fee limits, and the final price can vary by vehicle type, so contact us for an exact quote before you book.
How long does a mobile pink slip inspection take?
Most mobile pink slip inspections are finished in under 45 minutes. Because we come to you and lodge the result on the spot, there’s no workshop queue and no waiting room, so the whole process fits around your day rather than taking half of it.
What does the inspection check?
The eSafety check follows the full TfNSW safety checklist: brakes, pads, discs and pedal feel; tyres for tread and wear; suspension and steering; battery and engine bay; lights, indicators, horn and mirrors; windscreen, wipers and washers; seatbelts, child restraints and doors; oil leaks and underbody condition; and number plate visibility. It’s a roadworthiness check, not a substitute for regular servicing.
What happens if my vehicle fails the inspection?
If your vehicle doesn’t meet the required standards, we’ll explain exactly what needs attention and issue a Repairs Needed report. If the repairs are completed within 14 days, the vehicle can be reassessed with no additional inspection fee. Because we’re also mobile mechanics, we can often carry out the necessary repairs on-site so you don’t need a separate booking.
How long is a pink slip valid in NSW?
A pink slip (eSafety check) is valid for six months from the date of inspection. You’ll need to renew your registration within that window, otherwise the report expires and a new inspection is required.
Do I need to do anything after my vehicle passes?
No paperwork on your end. As soon as your vehicle passes, we submit the result electronically to Transport for NSW on the spot, which means you can go straight to renewing your registration online, by phone or in person. There’s nothing for you to lodge or hand in yourself.

Is there a call-out fee?
There’s no call-out fee for quoted work. You get an upfront, fixed-price quote before we start, so you know exactly what you’re paying with no hidden workshop charges. We’ll also beat any written repair quote and cover the call-out on repair jobs.

Yes. Our mobile pre-purchase inspections send a licensed mechanic to wherever the car is located to give you an independent assessment before you commit. We also inspect EVs specifically, so you can buy with confidence and avoid expensive surprises after the sale.
Do you offer repairs and servicing as well as inspections?
Yes. Alongside pink slips, we provide mobile car servicing, logbook servicing that keeps your manufacturer warranty intact, mechanical repairs, and breakdown assistance. Because it’s all mobile, we can often handle a repair and an inspection in the same visit rather than sending you to a workshop.
